It began with one inverter, two batteries and a handful of miners on a pegboard. Today the same Victron system runs from a container, and it’s what feeds the live figures on this page.

This compares costs only — it says nothing about mining rewards, which depend on how you mine: solo is a lottery, pooled pays smaller, steadier amounts, and neither is guaranteed to cover the cost whichever route you take. Hardware prices are UK retail estimates (checked Aug 2026); rental prices are live. After a year an owner still has resale-able kit — and if you have surplus home solar, owning can win. We show it straight.

Do I need any hardware?

No. The miners are ours — you rent time on them. You’ll need a browser to manage your session, plus the wallet or pool-account details required by your chosen mining service. If you’re new to mining, we can help you choose a pool and get started.

What can I rent?

Bitcoin miners from a 1 TH/s Bitaxe up to a 90 TH/s Avalon Q, and Dogecoin (Scrypt) miners too. Sessions run from a single day to a month, and when a free session is available you can start with that to see how it works before spending anything.

Can I use my own pool or solo server?

Yes, for Bitcoin miners. You can point your rented Bitcoin miner at your chosen pool or solo server, including one you run yourself, as long as it’s reachable over the internet and compatible with the miner. You choose where your hashrate goes, using the connection and wallet or worker details required by that service. Dogecoin (Scrypt) miners currently run on our two verified pools, one solo and one pooled, with rewards paid to your own wallet.

Will I make money?

That depends on how you mine. Solo mining is a lottery: you’re taking a chance at a block reward, and your session may finish without finding a block. Pool mining lets you work alongside other miners and build up smaller rewards based on your contribution — a way to stack your own sats when mining Bitcoin. Read more in our guide, Stacking sats.

Earning rewards doesn’t necessarily mean making a profit. Rewards may not cover your rental cost, and your chosen pool’s fees, payout rules and minimum withdrawal amounts still apply.

Do you take a cut of my rewards?

No. You pay to rent the hardware; we don’t take a percentage of what you mine. Your mining rewards are yours, paid by your chosen pool or solo service to the wallet you configure, according to its payout rules. Any fees charged by that service still apply.

What happens when it’s cloudy?

The battery bank carries the site through evenings and dull spells. We’re renewable-first, but if it’s needed to keep your session running, the site can draw supplementary power rather than stop your miner. The live data shows you exactly what’s happening.

What if my miner goes offline?

Every miner is monitored around the clock. If yours stops producing, we restart it automatically, and any downtime is added back to the end of your session — you don’t lose the time.

Is there a contract?

No. Sessions are prepaid for the time you choose and run to the end. If you’ve reserved a session that hasn’t started yet, you can cancel it for a full credit refund.

How the hashrate is measured

What the numbers are

The two figures are the combined, currently reported hashrate of the miners in our rental fleet, grouped by mining algorithm. The Bitcoin row totals the SHA-256 group and the Dogecoin row totals the Scrypt group. The two groups use different algorithms and are shown separately; they are never added together.

Each miner’s reported hashrate, collected by our monitoring every 30–60 seconds. Stand-alone units report their own figure; units that run through our hosting link report an estimate derived from the shares they have submitted over the last few minutes. Neither is a nameplate or configured figure.
Included
Rental units that are rented out or available to rent, if they have reported within the last 5 minutes. Silent units drop out rather than counting as zero.
Units
A unit is one rentable miner. The unit counts are the size of our rental fleet in each group, whether a unit is rented at the moment or not. The hashrate totals only ever include units that have reported within the last 5 minutes; if fewer than 60% of the units that were active in the last 24 hours are reporting, the row is marked partial, because the total is then lower than the fleet’s usual output rather than a change in mining.
Refresh
Re-read every 30 seconds. Each row shows the time of the newest reading behind it and turns amber if that is more than 5 minutes old or three re-reads in a row fail. “No units reporting” means nothing in that group has reported in the window; the previous figure is not shown as zero.
Coins
SHA-256 units are rented for Bitcoin and other SHA-256 coins; Scrypt units for Dogecoin and Litecoin. The rows describe the algorithm group, not which coin every renter has chosen.

This is a fleet-activity figure. It is not an energy-attribution calculation and does not by itself state how much of the electricity behind it was solar at any given moment. Our UK site’s live solar data is shown separately in the solar performance strip below, and the site itself is introduced further down this page (The installation).

Blocks found as reported here are any SHA-256 or Scrypt block mined using our service — Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, DigiByte, Dogecoin, Litecoin or another coin on those algorithms, as chosen by the renter at the time. The coin shown is the one that was actually found.

Energy details

Where the data comes from

The solar figures are based on readings from the Victron Energy system that runs our UK site (solar chargers, battery and inverter), supplied through Victron’s VRM service. The carbon figure is an estimate derived from the generation figures.

Freshness

The page re-reads the system every 30 seconds. Each figure keeps the time of the newest Victron record behind it: the badge is Live while every figure’s record is under 5 minutes old, turns amber (Stale) if any figure’s record is older than that or three re-reads in a row fail, and shows Unavailable only if no reading has ever been received. A failed re-read keeps the last figures and shows their age; it never shows zero.

What each figure means

Estimated generation today
Solar energy generated since the start of the current day, based on the chargers’ daily yield counter, which resets each day.
Estimated generation now
Solar power at the last reading, in kilowatts. A rate, not an amount.
Monitored battery charge
State of charge of the monitored battery bank, as read. It describes that bank’s storage, not any other equipment and not your rental.
Est. CO₂ avoided
Generation converted at an assumed grid carbon intensity of 0.233 kg CO₂ per kWh. The site draws around 8 kW continuously while mining, so everything the panels generate is used on site, either immediately or later from the battery: each generated kWh replaces one that would otherwise have been bought from the grid.
Today / All time
“All time” shows the cumulative estimates only (generation and CO₂) since the date shown. Instantaneous figures such as generation now and battery charge are always current and are not shown in that view.
Weather and sunset
Local weather comes from the Open-Meteo forecast service and sunset is calculated for the site’s location. Neither comes from the Victron feed.
